A High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State has granted an interim injunction restraining Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State from parading himself as the Chairman National Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The presiding judge of court, Justice Onome Marshal Umukoro also granted an interim order, stopping the APC from holding the Local Government Congress in Delta State.

The court also suspended other members of the party’s national caretaker committee.

The judge gave the order while ruling on an ex parte motion filed by the Deputy Chairman APC, Olorogun Elvis Ayomanor with other officials of the Delta APC.

Ayomanor had filed an application seeking the court’s approval to halt the party from holding the local government Congress scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2021, in Delta State.

Justice Umukoro in his ruling, granted a 7-day order of interim injunction restraining Gov. Buni and the CECPC from conducting the Local Government and State Congresses or any other congress of APC slated for Semptemer 4, 2021 or any other date, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice already filed and served.
