The duo of Okpe Royal Father, HRM Felix Mujakperuo, Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, and the founding leader of All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun Otega Emerhor have expressed confidence in the capacity and qualification of APC Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Chief Ede Omueya Dafinone as the perfect Urhobo son to take over the Senatorial seat of Delta Central from the current Senator, Ovie Omo-Agege when his tenure ends in 2023.
The royal father and the Evwreni-born politician who spoke at different occasions, eulogized the sterling qualities of the world-acclaimed chartered accountant, politician, and technocrat, describing him as one that possesses the capacity to step into the big shoes of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and take Urhobo to a higher height.
While welcoming him and his consultation train to the royal palace of the Okpe Monarch last week, HRM Orhue I expressed confidence in the capacity of the Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, noting that with his intimidating academic qualifications, the wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors, astute politician and philanthropist, he has no doubt about his chances of providing a very successful representation in the National Assembly that will make Urhobo proud.
The Okpe monarch also noted that Ede was a beneficiary of the blessing of his late father, Senator David Dafinone, adding that he would not be a push-over in the Senate just as the royal father offered a royal prayer for the Senatorial aspirant’s success.
”Your CV is very intimidating, I have no doubt in my mind that God willing when you are in the Senate, there is no way that you will be pushed aside, I also know that your father was a senator, and he was one of the many respected senators of his time. It is the prayer of the father for their son to step into their shoes, I am very sure that your father’s project is working for you and that you are going to step into his shoes appropriately”, he said.
Earlier, Chief Dafinone had earlier disclosed to the Monarch that, if given the support to be a senator in 2023, he will make Urhobo proud, stressing that he possesses the requisite qualifications to take over from the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.
“I am the best person qualified to be the Delta Central Senator because I have the qualification, the experience and I am not a newcomer in the game of politics, Delta Central is endowed and I promise, if you push me forward, I will move it from potential to prosperity,” he said.
At the Evwreni country home of the founding leader of the APC in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, the Delta Central APC Senatorial aspirant was accorded a very warm reception on his arrival with his consultation train.
Disclosing his mission, Dafinone told the founding leader of APC in the State that he visited to seek his prayers, blessing, and advice to enable him to succeed both in the party primary and the main election, adding that he was prepared to provide efficient representation for the Urhobo when he gets to the National Assembly.
He further described Olorogun Otega Emerhor as a major stakeholder and a founding father of the APC in Delta State, hence he is beginning his consultation with him apart from first going to inform his home monarch, The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom. He further notes that he holds Oloroun Emerhor in very high esteem and requires his support to become the senator representing the Urhobo people.
Responding, Emerhor thanked the senatorial aspirant for the honor and respect he accorded him, just as he expressed confidence that Chief Ede Dafinone has what it takes to offer Urhobo the needed leadership and representation.
Emerhor recalled that Ede has been a very active member who has always contributed to the growth of the party in the State, adding that he has what it takes to give the opposition the run for their money.
