  • Calls For Unity Among APC Members To Claim Delta State

As the foremost All-Progressives Congress (APC) Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Chief Ede Dafinone, rounded off his consultation visits to the eight Local Government Areas of the zone, party leaders and members from Ethiope East, Okpe and Uvwie LGAs have pledged their unflinching support for the political ambition of the aspirant, assuring him that he was already in the Red Chamber.

Ede and his train who were received by a mammoth crowd of delegates and party members from Ethiope East in Isiokolo on Wednesday, May 4, was urged to be ready to step into the big shoes that would be left behind by the incumbent Delta Central Senator, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege Agege, adding that the people of Ethiope East have already concluded their preparation to send him a message to the Senate.

Addressing the aspirant during the visit, the chairman of APC in Ethiope East, Chief Julius Ogboru, disclosed that the Urhobo nation has resolved to send her best material to continue the exemplary achievements of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in the Upper Chamber, noting that with Ede’s experience and capacity, the people of Delta Central were certain not to be disappointed.

Ogboru said: “You are already there. Your father was a core politician with great ideas, I want you to follow in the footsteps of your father. Be in his shoes, your father was a man of the people, and I know you are. Who is coming to challenge you for this position? You will win because I know you are there.”

Also playing host to the potential Senator and his entourage at Orerokpe, APC delegates, leaders, and members from the Okpe Local Government Area pledged their unflinching support and commitment to deliver Dafinone for the Delta Central seat at the Senate, adding that they have no iota of doubt as to his qualifications and experience to continue the good works of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in the National Assembly.

Speaking at the occasion, the APC chairman in Okpe local government, Eric Afe, said that the Okpe people cannot fail to deliver, pledging their full support for Dafinone.

“We have no doubt about your ability, you are qualified and very experienced to carry out the good work of replacing our Senator, DSP Ovie Omo-Agege.

“He has set the standard and we must say nobody is more suitable than you and we are sure you will go on to conquer,” Afe said.

As Ede rounded off the consultation visit at Effurun, the APC delegates, leaders and members of the party led by the Uvwie LG chairman, Comrade Ileleji Wilfred, announced to the Senatorial aspirant that he has already been accepted by the people as their incoming Senator.

“Here in Uvwie Local Government Area, we always deliver five over five. We have never failed the party and we cannot fail you” he assured.

Reacting, Dafinone called on members of the party in the state to remain united and work for the party’s victory in the 2023 elections, pointing out that the chance to take over the State has never been this brighter.

Ede, who spoke during his visit to APC leaders in Ethiope East, Okpe, and Uvwie local government council in Delta state in continuation of his consultations over his ambition to represent Delta Central at the Senate, said that although the Deputy Senate President, Omo-Agege has done enough to convince Deltans to vote for the party at the next elections, members must put in more work and be united to actualise the dream.

He said: “In the last election, the party was factionalised, and we were not united, but today, under the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, the party is not only united, we are ready to take over the Government House in Asaba in 2023, but to do that successfully, it will need our collective efforts.”

Speaking further, the Senatorial aspirant noted that Omo-Agege’s achievement since he was elected to the Senate has not only been a thing of pride to the Urhobo nation but has made campaigning for the party at next year’s general election a lot easier, urging the Exco to support him as their senatorial candidate, just as he reeled out his intimidating qualifications and work experience.

He enjoined the party leadership and party faithful in Delta State to rally around Omo-Agege’s leadership as the DSP prepares to take over Delta State and rescue the state from poor leadership, stressing that mismanagement of state resources and reckless administration have become the bane of the state since 1999.
