As the ‘who is who’ in Delta APC and thousands of supporters defied the scorching sun of yesterday in Ughelli to welcome home the party’s governorship candidate in the 2023 election, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, he has assured all that the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will remember everyone who had worked for the success and victory of the party.

Omo-Agege who gave this assurance when the APC in Delta State organized the welcome home ceremony in Ughelli kingdom, in honor of the former Deputy President of the Senate, appealed to everyone who has not received any recompense to be patient, adding that the President will reach out to everybody.

“I want to appeal to some of you who have not received your just compensation, to be patient. Please be patient. I’m confident that the President will remember everybody

“One thing is clear, the President has not disappointed us. I’m sure, he will succeed. He is already succeeding. But let us continue to pray for him. He is our own. When Asiwaju. Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeed, we will also succeed. When it is good for him, it is also good for us.

“So let us continue to pray for him, let us continue to protect him. He has a mandate, some say is four years, but we believe his mandate is eight years”.

“In that eight years, he is going to turn the whole country around and all of us will benefit from it. So, it is an appeal I’m making. Your own turn will soon come” Omo-Agege said.

The Obarisi of the Urhobo nation took time off to thank everyone that offered his support to the party, especially during the 2023 election, adding that he eternally remain grateful for their supports.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman of the organizing committee of the event, Distinguished Senator Ede Dafinone, has eulogized Senator Omo-Agege, saying that he was very proud of the former Deputy President of the.Senate.

According the Senator Dafinone, the legacies of Senator Omo-Agege in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria deserves celebration.

He noted that as much as the ruling of the Supreme Court in the 2023 governorship election tribunal have been accepted by all, many believed Senator Omo-Agege win the March 18, 2023 poll.

“I’m not just proud but honoured to be here as chairman of this event to celebrate our DSP and to welcome him home, he has done us proud as a legislator, he has done us proud as a leader.

“He has had an exemplary performance in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I believe, that alone is worthy of celebration.

“In fact, many of us still believe that he won that election. As law-abiding Nigerians, we have listened to the verdict of the court and we stand by that verdict. But that did not detract from the performance of our leader in that election.

“And this is our day to say Welcome Home sir. You may not have been victorious but we know that Deltans are solidly behind you”, Dafinone said.

Also speaking at the event, former Senator representing Delta North, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, described Ovie Omo-Agege as a man of honour and trust, adding that since he joined the APC, the former DSP has never disappointed him.

“Omo-Agege is a man of honour. When he is with you he is with you, when he is against you he is against you.”

“Ovie Omo-Agege, I will continue to support you as long as you remain committed and a man of honour”, Nwaoboshi said.

In his remarks, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr. Felix Mouka, reminded Deltans that although Senator Omo-Agege was not declared a governor, he still have a whole world of opportunities ahead.

He said: “Omo-Agege may not have been declared the governor, but make no mistakes, this man we are celebrating today has a whole world ahead of him. Deltans have not seen the last of Omo-Agege; Nigerians have not seen the last of Omo-Agege.”

Present at the event, Senators including Senator Ede Dafinone, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, national officers of the party, about 15 members of the state exco, deputy governorship candidate of the party in the 2023 election, Hon. Osanebi, Representative of Senator Onowhakpo, former House of Reps Member, Hon Reyeneiju, Hon. Monday Igbuya, Dr. Mrs. Veronica Ogbuagu, Chief Tuesday Onoge, Hon. Almona Isei, amongst others.
