Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has hailed the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) local government congress in Delta State, describing the exercise as peaceful and credible.
Omo-Agege, who represents Delta Central in the Senate said in a statement released on Sunday that the peace and credibility experienced during the ruling party’s congress in the state was an indication that the APC was ready to take the state from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the next general elections.
He commended the party faithfuls on the success of the exercise, urging those who emerged as party officials across the 25 Local Government Areas to be humble in victory.
The statement reads: “Yesterday, I participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Congress in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. The exercise was peaceful and credible.
“Permit me to use this medium to congratulate and welcome onboard all the elected LGA officers across Delta State who emerged victorious at the end of the exercise.
“May I also use this opportunity to commend all members and stakeholders of our great party for the peaceful and successful conduct of the Congress in Delta State,” Senator Omo-Agege, who is the leader of the APC’s South-south caucus said.
The exercise in line with the party’s directive, was conducted in the presence of security operatives and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
