The Federal Government has officially declared Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, as public holidays in celebrations of the 2024 Sallah celebrations.
This was announced in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, on Friday
In the statement, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo felicitated with Muslim Ummah both at home and in the Diaspora on this occasion.
The minister also urged the Muslim faithful to perpetuate the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice, as embodied by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), and to utilize this period for prayers aimed at fostering national unity, prosperity, and stability within our country.
The statement reads in part: “The Minister assured that the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.
“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister advised all Nigerians to take responsibility in the resolve to hand over a prosperous Nigeria to our children.”
