Nigerian artiste, Davido has called out his cousin, Dele Adeleke, over his aspiration for the seat of the Governor of Osun state against his uncle, Ademola Adeleke.
Davido, who took to his Twitter official handle on Tuesday questioned his cousin’s intellectual competence in running for elective office, noting that his cousin “has not succeeded in building one single thing in his life on his own.
“Wonderful! Me I finished uni with a 2:1. But it’s now cousin dele who struggled to even get a 2:2 that is now forming ‘intellectual’.
“Intellectual that has not succeeded in building one single thing in his life on his own. This life ehn! Osun beware of FAKES! @deleadeleke001 ” https://t.co/FwrlKNKLF0
Dele Adeleke had declared his interest to run for the same position with Senator Ademola who earlier announced that he will be running for the Osun governorship election. On December 11.
They are both members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and they have obtained forms to contest for the party’s governorship ticket.
Dele Adeleke explained during an interview on Channels Television that the family ties between him and his uncle should not be a reason for him not to run for governor, noting that he is more competent for the position.
Senator Ademola is not a stranger to the gubernatorial race. The Dancing Senator, as he is fondly called by the public, has attempted to seize that mantle and almost succeeded during the last election.
Dele Adeleke, nephew of Senator Ademola Adeleke was at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja recently, to pick the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for the gubernatorial primaries for the sum of N21 million.
It was revealed that Dele Adeleke had been approached to run against his uncle in the next PDP gubernatorial primaries.
Dele, a financial expert, was responsible for marshalling points to defend his uncle at both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Tribunal to the Supreme Court in the 2018 election in Osun.
Dele, on the other hand, is not exactly a greenhorn in politics. However, this is the first time he is contesting for something so conspicuous. That Senator Ademola is Dele’s Uncle makes the latter’s gubernatorial ambition something to think about.
