The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Omueya Dafinone has reiterated his promise to offer proper and effective representation to the Urhobo people on whose mandate he emerged in the upper chamber.

Dafinone who disclosed this in Sapele on the occasion of his thanksgiving to God, the promises he made to the people of Delta Central during his political campaigns, and said he was set to fulfill his pledges.

The lawmaker thanked God for a successful campaign, and a resounding victory at the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election, adding that throughout the campaign there was no ill-health nor accident.

“I’m grateful that I ran under the platform of the All Progressives Congress. And today, I’m the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

“We thank the Almighty (God) for the success. We thank God for the many days of the campaign without accident and without illness.

“We successfully ran election with team. So, I took the opportunity today to thank the whole team. If you got the brochure in church today, you will see that the team was made up of about 300-400 people who worked in all the Local Government Areas throughout the period of about nine months. So, it was a long campaign and a very tasking campaign. I thank the team around me and I’m here today to celebrate with them.

“The pastor said something in the church that I should not leave any of my team behind. It is something I firmly believe in and I would not leave any of the team that worked with me behind.

“The pastor also said that I should move forward into the next stretch and that I should remember all the people of Delta Central.

“Again, I want to emphasize that I would not. leave the people behind, both those who voted for me and those who did not”, he said.

It would be recalled that Senator Ede Dafinone, a scion of the late famous Senator David Dafinone, won the February 25 National Assembly Assembly election for Delta Central Senatorial District on the platform of the APC, beating the candidate of the PDP, Chief Ighoyota Amori to second place.
