  • Says Promotion Calls For More Commitment To Fatherland

By Peter Akoteyon

Eminent Chartered Accountant and Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district of Delta State in the 10th Senate, Senator Ede Dafinone has congratulated all newly promoted Officers of Urhobo extraction in the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The congratulatory message is coming on the heels of a recent promotion of some senior officers in the service.

While congratulating the promoted officers, the senator said: “ I am delighted to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted officers in the Nigeria Immigration Service. This recognition comes as part of the recent elevation of senior immigration officers, where our dedicated Urhobo personnel received their well-deserved promotions.”

It would be recalled that prior to the promotion of these officers, Dafinone had paid a courtesy visit on the Comptroller General of Customs, Mrs Kemi Nandap, in her Abuja office on 14 August 2024, where he made a case for “increased support for Urhobo personnel within the service” in line with his role as the Senator representing the Urhobo people in the upper legislative chambers.

Dafinone who thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Mrs Nandap, for her sense of understanding and encouragement, urged the newly decorated officers to be good ambassadors of their profession and be more committed to the service of the nation at large.

He added: “My sincere gratitude goes to Mrs Kemi Nandap the Comptroller-General. I encourage the newly promoted officers to embrace their new roles with greater dedication and commitment to duty, as their promotion comes with increased responsibilities. I urge them to continue their exemplary service to our nation, and I reaffirm my unwavering support for all Urhobo personnel serving in Federal institutions.”
