A major feud has broke out in the Labour Party as a faction of the party has elected Jude Ezenwafor as its presidential candidate for the forthcoming 2023 General elections.

His candidacy was affirmed through voice votes by the delegates from across the 36 states of the federation and FCT.

The Chairman of the faction, Calistus Uju Okafor announced that Ezenwafor emerged unopposed at the special national convention which held in Excel Hotel and Resort, Garki 2, Abuja, Wednesday.

In his acceptance speech, Ezenwafor, a former Anambra State Chairman of LP, said that he was on “a rescue mission.”  He added that Nigeria under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is facing lots of challenges.

He said, “Nigeria needs to be rescued. Labour is leading a revolutionary course, Labour party will win the general election.

“Our party is going to take over Nigeria and bring back the glory Nigeria needs.

“I have been in the corridors of government for the past 20 years. We are here on a rescue mission,” he said.
