Nigeria on Saturday recorded 1588 new cases, 6 additional deaths from the Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours.

The statistics brought the death toll from the pandemic to 1647.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday announced this on its official website.

Also, figures released between February 2-6, showed that Nigeria has recorded 7324 cases with 30 deaths.

Following the Saturday’s figures, 242 cases have been confirmed, 112,557 cases have been discharged and 1,647 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

According to NCDC, a total of 498 community recoveries were recorded in Lagos State, 64 in Kano State and 54 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.

However, Lagos led with (535) new cases, out of 1588 recorded cases. The figure raised Lagos’ tally to 51,663 cases. 44, 889 have been discharged with 395 deaths.

FCT followed with 17, 646 confirmed cases, 11, 453 discharged and 127 deaths.

Plateau came third with 8,297 confirmed cases, 7,783 discharged and 56 deaths.

Specifics:
The 1588 new cases are reported from 20 states- Lagos (535), Anambra (218), Oyo (155), FCT (150), Kano (124), Gombe (60), Kaduna (49), Ebonyi (48), Plateau (46), Akwa Ibom (39), Niger (37), Edo (33), Katsina (23), Rivers (18), Taraba (15), Nasarawa (14), Ogun (11), Delta (9), Ekiti (2), and Jigawa (2).
