Nigeria has recorded 5 additional deaths of Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours.

This has brought the death toll to 1618 since the outbreak of the pandemic in February, 2020.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, February 3 announced this on its official website.

A total of 134,690 cases have been confirmed, 108,657 cases have been discharged and 1618 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Lagos led with 377 cases out of the 1138 cases recorded. In all, Lagos State has so far confirmed 50, 318 cases since the pandemic struck. 42,736 patients have been discharged with 329 deaths in the state.

FCT followed with 17, 243 confirmed cases, 11001 discharged and 127 deaths.

Plateau came third with 8,068 confirmed cases; 7,508 discharged and 55 deaths.

Furthermore, 476 community recoveries were discharged in Lagos State and 121 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.

Specifics:
The 1138 new cases are reported from 21 states- Lagos (377), FCT (172), Plateau (86), Kano (84), Edo (60), Osun (47), Nasarawa (41), Imo (40), Rivers (36), Niger (32), Oyo (32), Borno (29), Kaduna (27), Delta (18), Kwara (17), Cross River (9), Ekiti (8), Bauchi (7), Ogun (7), Sokoto (6) and Bayelsa (3)
