Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 1634 new Covid-19 infections and 6 additional deaths.

Tuesday’s 1634 new cases took the total number of infections in the country to 133, 552.

This is according to the figure released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its official website.

A total number of 133,552 cases have been confirmed, 107,551 cases have been discharged and 1613 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

According to NCDC, 867 discharges were recorded in the country. Out of the number, Lagos State had 551 community recoveries, 213 were recorded in Kaduna and 103 in Kano.

Lagos State led with (440) cases out of the 1634 recorded Tuesday.

As things stand, Lagos has recorded 49, 941 cases, 42,260 have been discharged with 329 deaths.

FCT followed with 17,071 total number of cases, 11, 000 discharged and 127 deaths.

Plateau came third with 7982 confirmed cases, 7387 discharged, 55 deaths.

However, between February 1-2, Nigeria has recorded 2,319 cases and 1,891 community recoveries nationwide.

Specifics:
The 1634 new cases are reported from 26 states- Lagos (440), Anambra (160), FCT (158), Rivers (134), Abia (103), Oyo (90), Enugu (81), Osun (73), Gombe (54), Kwara (50), Ogun (32), Plateau (32), Akwa Ibom (31), Ondo (24), Borno (23), Delta (23), Ebonyi (21), Taraba (21), Bayelsa (16), Kaduna (15), Nasarawa (13), Jigawa (12), Bauchi (11), Kano (11), Zamfara (4) and Sokoto (2).
