The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 announced 1,386 new infections and 14 additional deaths from Covid-19 in the country with 626 community recoveries in Lagos State.

Recall The New Diplomat had on Thursday, 14 January, reported that Nigeria recorded a total of 77 deaths last week alone.

The 1386 new infections bring the country’s total cases to 114, 691, while 92,336 have been discharged. 22,355 cases are active and the country’s death toll has risen to 1478.

Evidently, Lagos State which is the epicenter of the pandemic led with a total number of 476 cases, Rivers followed with 163 and FCT 116 cases.

However, a total of 1,203, 113 samples have been tested so far in the country.

Notably, Lagos State total number of confirmed cases are, 42,427, followed by FCT-15,025 and Plateau-6958
