The figures of Covid-19 cases in Nigeria have continued to rise as fresh 117 patients were recorded on Tuesday as announced  by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC).

This latest development effectively brings the  figures nationwide to 782 from 665 which was previously announced on Monday. The NCDC in a tweet last night disclosed that the new cases were reported in seven states and the FCT as follows: Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano, Katsina,Ogun, Rivers, Bauchi and Borno states.

In addition, the agency said the fresh cases were recorded in states with existing cases already. By last night, a breakdown of the dynamics of this latest data show the following: 59 of the new patients are from Lagos, 29 in the FCT, 14 from Kano, six in Borno, four in Katsina, three in Ogun, and one each from Rivers and Bauchi, respectively.

NCDC maintained that as of 11:25 p.m. yesterday April 21, there were 782 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. On the whole, 197 affected persons have been given clean bill of health, while the death toll rose to 25 from 22 earlier indicated on Monday.
