The Federal Government has announced September 5 as the date for full resumption of international flights in the country and not August 29, that was earlier announced.

The Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Musa Nuhu made the announcement during Thursday’s briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Nuhu said the government was pushing ahead with the implementation of the principle of reciprocity against nationals of some countries that had imposed stringent travel conditions on Nigerian citizens on the bases of Covid-19 cases in the country.international flight Resumption

He said a comprehensive list of the affected countries would be released to the public alongside the Covid-19 protocols.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had announced on August 17, 2020, that international flights would resume on August 29, following pressures from the public for the resumption of the flights.

Meanwhile, Nuhu said September 5, 2020 was picked as the new date for international flights resumption, stressing that there were still issues to be sorted out before allowing international carriers to operate into and out of Nigeria.
