Again, Nigeria recorded an upsurge in COVID 19 cases as 386 new cases were recorded Friday, May 8, 2020, pushing the total figures of cases to 3912.

According to figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) via its official handle, Lagos State once again topped the chart with 176 infections followed by Kano with 65 cases.

Katsina recorded 31 cases, FCT 20, Borno 17, Bauchi 15, and Nasarawa with 14 recorded cases.

Ogun followed suit with 10 cases the same as Plateau while Oyo, Sokoto, and Rivers recorded 4 cases each.

Edo, Ebonyi, and Ondo have 2 cases each while the quartet of Enugu, Imo, Gombe, and Osun recorded a single case each.

679 patients have been discharged so far while 10 fatalities were recorded in a day pushing the death toll from the pandemic to 117 people.
