Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reacted to calls from certain quarters for a military coup in Nigeria, stating that such calls for military interference in the nation’s democracy is highly unpatriotic.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau on Friday. in Abuja, it was an attempt by unpatriotic elements to distract the military from performing its constitutional responsibilities.
