Guinness World Record has denied receiving the application of a Nigerian chef, Yewande Fasan Damilola Adeparusi popularly known as Chef Dammy who recently concluded a 120-hour cooking marathon while attempting to break Hilda Baci’s record.

The organization did not comment on Chef Dammy’s attempts throughout the duration of her 120-hour cooking marathon.

Guinness World Record in a statement said, “We have not received an application for this attempt. Applications can be made via the Guinness World Records website for our records management team to review.

“Once an application is accepted, the record claimant receives a set of detailed guidelines specific to that record category that must be adhered to.

“This also details a list of evidence that must be submitted for our team to verify the record. Guinness World Records maintains a rigorous review process to maintain the integrity of each Guinness World Records title.”

It would be recalled that GWR on Tuesday, certified Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual after defeating her Indian predecessor, chef Lata Tandon.

The Record noted that it deducted seven hours from Hilda Baci’s 100-hour longest cooking marathon by an individual record because “she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”

The record body put her official record at 93 hours 11 minutes and not 100 hours.
