The Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Salihu Lukman, has resigned from his position.

Lukman tendered his resignation letter just hours after the governors elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) met in Abuja.

While the reason for his decision remains sketchy as of press time, it might not be unconnected with the controversies surrounding the upcoming national convention of the APC.

Lukman has been vocal about his stance on the national convention, warning the caretaker committee against any further delay of the convention.

He had at different times blamed Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) over the continued delay in the conduct of the party’s national convention.

According to reports, his position and persistence drew the ire of some Governors, with many calling for the sack of the Director-General over alleged anti-party activities.
