  • A product of loyalty, says Jimmy Omo-Agege

It was celebration galore at the Orogun country home of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, when he doled out empowerment items worth millions of naira to his constituents to improve on their wellbeing.

Items given out include 8 Cars, 175 trycycles and 189 grinding machines.

The items which, it was gathered, were supposed to be distributed before the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election, were specifically targeted at officials of the APC in the wards and local government of Delta Central.

Presenting the items on behalf of Ovie Omo-Agege, Mr. Jimmy Omo-Agege expressed delight, stating that the exercise which was the first phase of the Senator’s empowerment programme, was a reward for loyalty of the constituents. According to him, more was being expected to come.

“There will be another empowerment program of this kind. We are very happy and the people are happy. And this will change and improve their lives and it will boost the economy of the state.

“I urge you to use it properly and to be loyal party members in order to get more empowerment.” He added .

Earlier, the Director General of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege Campaign Organization, Chief Francis Atanomeyovwi, revealed that those who worked assiduously to ensure that Delta Central delivers President Muhammadu Buhari and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege during the 2019 general elections were the ones enjoying the dividends, adding that; “The empowerment scheme is to show appreciation to those who have worked and that is why we have graciously given cars for the LGA chairmen, tricycles, motorcycles and grinding machines to ward chairmen, women leaders and youth leaders.

“And this is Omo-Agege first term empowement items which he couldn’t distribute because of the pressure of the election.

“So you can imagine that this second tenure would be a blast. All Omo-Agege has done is to make sure his people are comfortable.  “We therefore thank PMB and others who ensured  he emerged as DSP. And we are happy that Omo-Agege touched lives of Delta Central and the beneficiaries will never forget this day.

“I urge the beneficiaries to put them into perfect use so that it will spur Omo-Agege to do more.

“You now go and preach the gospel that every one should work for APC. We have seen the manifestations of joining the APC and many are on the way.”

In an interview with one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Samson Onojeta, who got a tricycle, he thanked the Senator for his care, adding that with the tricycle, his life has been transformed.

“I thank Senator Omo-Agege, the Obarisi of the universe for this gesture. I thank God for using him to transform my life. God will continue to bless him”, he said.

Also fielding question from newsmen shortly after the event, a beneficiary of a Corolla car who simply gave his name as Matthew, showered praises on the Senator for touching the lives of the people, adding that he has suddenly become a car owner.

“God Almighty will continue to bless our Senator for touching my life. I’ve suddenly become a car owner. I’ll use this car wisely to bring glory to God and to encourage our Senator to do more”, he said.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of 8 Toyota Corolla Cars to the 8 Local Government Chairmen, 45 Tricycles .to wives of APC faithful who died during the 2019 general elections, 175 Motorcycles to ward chairmen and 189 grinding machines to ward women leaders.
