Report has emerged that Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele are governing the affairs of Ogun state from the United Kingdom.

Ogun state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Waheed Odusile made this disclosure in an interview with Premium Times.

The Commissioner disclosed that Abiodun and Salako-Oyedele have been out the country for over a week. He also disclosed that the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo is currently in the United States of America.

While the commissioner noted that the speaker was on a working visit to the US to attend the 76th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), he failed to disclose the reason why the Governor and his deputy are out of the country.

Odusile also refuted reports that Abiodun traveled on health grounds.

In his words, “The governor is running the state from where he is.

“If the Governor says SSG, do this for me; deputy, do this for me; Commissioner, do this for me; Perm Sec, do this for me, it is still the governor that is still working,” said the commissioner.

“The governor is running the government from where he is. You know, when he sends you something, you report back to him.

“Even if the governor and his deputy are here, can they do it alone? Definitely, they will designate people and people have been designated already. When the Governor designates you to do something, you report back him.”
