Christian Eriksen has cheered up fans today as he posted his picture and shared an encouraging update on his health state, days after he sent the football world into panic when he collapsed during a match.

It would be recalled that, the midfielder was in action for Denmark during his country’s Group B curtain-raiser against Finland staged in Copenhagen.

However, he was unable to see out the rest of the match after he dropped to the ground unconscious with two minutes left to end the first half.

Denmark captain Simon Kjaer was hugely credited for saving Eriksen’s life, with the AC Milan defender responding swiftly to the incident. Kjaer provided a quick CPR before the Inter Milan star was rushed to the hospital for further medical attention.

Eriksen, who has spent more than 48 hours in the hospital has made his first public appearance, taking to social media to share a photo of himself from his hospital bed.

Eriksen captioned the photo: “Hello everyone. Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family. I’m fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.”

The Denmark international cut a jovial face in the photo, divulging he is feeling better as he awaits further examination.

Eriksen released his first statement since suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday, June 12, during the Euro 2020.

The statement was sent to the press by his manager, with the former Tottenham Hotspur ace thanking everyone for their support.  “Thank you, I won’t give up. I feel better now – but I want to understand what’s happened. I want to say thank you all for what you did for me.
