Lt. A.M. Yerima is NOT the Son of Gen. M.M. Yerima

Nigeria’s Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, is set to break his silence today, Monday, 6 October, following a PREMIUM TIMES investigation that uncovered he forged his university degree and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates.

The two-year investigation, published on Saturday, detailed how Nnaji submitted falsified credentials to President Bola Tinubu and the Senate during his ministerial confirmation in 2023.

Allegations about his academic record had swirled since July 2023, when Tinubu nominated him as one of the first 28 ministers of his administration. Critics repeatedly claimed he never completed his university education and that the certificates he presented were fake.

PREMIUM TIMES’ findings showed that the Bachelor’s degree and NYSC discharge certificate in Nnaji’s possession were forgeries. On Sunday, the newspaper further reported that the minister admitted the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) never issued him a degree certificate.

Nnaji is expected to speak on the matter at a press conference scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council in Maitama, Abuja. A copy of the invitation to the event was sighted by PREMIUM TIMES.
