A Catholic priest, Rev. Father Jude Onyebadi has been kidnapped in Delta State, raising fresh apprehension and fears within the State.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Saturday, when the cleric was working on his pineapple farm in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North local government area of the state, where a group of men whisked him away in an unknown car.

According to a source, the kidnappers were yet to make any contact with his family members or the church as of the time of this report. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, (PPRO) DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya who confirmed the sad news of the kidnap to news men, said the police has launched a rescue mission, with a bid to apprehend the abductors.

The menace of kidnappers in the state is becoming worrisome as it had continued unabatedly. Last month, the Chairman of Warri North local government area, Amb. Aduge Okorodudu was similarly abducted while being driven along Mbiaku link road in Warri GRA.
