President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday afternoon visited the Kuje custodial facility in Abuja that was attacked by terrorists Tuesday night.

The President visited the prison to inspect the level of damage done by the evil perpetrators.

The visit comes just before Buhari jets out to Dakar, the Senegalese capital, to participate in the International Development Association (IDA) for Africa summit.

The New Diplomat had reported that some terrorists attacked the Kuje custodial facility in Abuja. During the attack hundreds of inmates were freed by the attackers.

An official also said four inmates and a security official were killed during the attack.

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) says 443 inmates who escaped from Kuje prison in the federal capital territory (FCT) have been recaptured.

Abubakar Umar, NCS spokesman, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Umar, in the statement, said the attackers broke into the prison using explosive devices through the main entrance and the fence of the facility.
