President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the senate approval of his nomination of Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, Sunday Dare, Aliyu Saida Abubakar, Clement Omeiza Baiye, Chief Okoi Ofem Obono Obia, Pastor Ezekiel Yissa and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as Board Members of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

Buhari request was presented at the plenary on Thursday by the Deputy Senate Leader Bala Ibn Na’allah.

According to Na’allah the President request is in accordance with Section 8(1) a of the NCC Act 2003. He said the enssence of the presentation was to allow the Senate forward the request for futher legislative action

In his ruling the President Bukola Sarki refer the request to the Senate committee on communication to report back in two weeks.
