Former President Muhammadu Buhari extended warm birthday wishes to President Bola Tinubu on his 72nd birthday anniversary, expressing hopes for his continued good health and long life to further contribute to the nation’s progress through his outstanding leadership.

President Tinubu will be 72 years on Friday, March 29, 2024.

In a statement released on Thursday, March 28, by his spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, the former president commended President Tinubu for his consistent dedication in addressing the numerous challenges confronting the nation.

Shehu said: “Former President Muhammadu Buhari extends birthday greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, wishing him good health and long life in order for the country to benefit from his excellent leadership.

“In a message to mark the 72 birthday of the President, Muhammadu Buhari commended Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for making sustained efforts to overcome the many problems of the country, while wishing him many happy returns of the day.”

Buhari, in the statement, said: “My family and I pray to God that you remain healthy and happy and continue to work for the betterment of the country. Happy birthday to you.”

It would be recalled that earlier in the week, the President had requested his friends and associates not to send him goodwill messages nor advert congratulatory messages on newspapers due to the mood of the nation following the killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State on March 14, 2024 and the killing of six police officers in Ohoro forest in Delta State.
