On the eve of the ceremony on Friday, the President is expected to attend the Commonwealth Summit for Presidents and Heads of Government of Commonwealth countries. An earlier statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, which was read on Wednesday, noted that the Commonwealth Secretariat will be taking advantage of the gathering of leaders in London to host a Summit on May 5.

Hundreds of world leaders are expected to grace the coronation of King Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort of the United Kingdom respectively.

While most of these are already in London for the event which will take place at Westminster Abbey, two world leaders would however not be attending. President Joe Biden of the United States has already written that he would not attend though his wife, Jill Biden would be there.

Another world leader who would not be attending is the Russian President Vladimir Putin who has become a pariah of the Western world following his invasion of Ukraine.
