President Muhammadu Buhari is set to host the 109 senators of the 9th Senate to a dinner Tuesday.

The scheduled meeting was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and subsequently read out during Tuesday’s plenary.

The meeting between the President and the lawmakers will hold at the state house banquet hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The invitation letter reads, “I write to inform the Distinguished President of the Senate, that President Muhammadu Buhari will host a dinner of Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday, 13th July, 2021, at 8pm 20:00 hrs.

“The venue is at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.”

Although the purpose of the meeting is not yet known as of press time, however, the Senate during plenary which held on April 27 had reached a resolution that the leadership of the senate should schedule a meeting with the President in a bid to discuss the issue of insecurity in the country.

Nigeria has been witnessing incessant attacks from bandits, hoodlums, armed men among other criminals causing havoc in the country.

Recently, Buhari declared war on the bandits terrorising the country.

The New Diplomat had reported that Buhari had ordered the military troops to frontally crush bandits who have been orchestrating series of abductions, killings, among other criminalities.
