A tanker laden with fuel has exploded on Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
A vehicle and a container truck were also reportedly caught up in the inferno.
In circulating videos of the incident, smoke can be seen billowing from the scene of the fire.
The explosion has led to gridlock on the expressway as drivers and passengers abandoned their vehicles to scamper to safety.
