The All Progressives Congress (APC) North-East meeting on Sunday descended into chaos as party members clashed over the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The turmoil, captured in a viral video comes amidst escalating political stakes as Nigeria approaches another critical election cycle.
The meeting, which was held in Gombe state, was attended by high-profile figures, including APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Deputy National Chairman Dr. Ali Bukar Dalori.
The meeting was also attended by Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, and Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe.
However, the meeting spiraled out of control when Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the National Vice Chairman for the North-East, endorsed Tinubu but conspicuously omitted Vice-President Kashim Shettima from his remarks.
This omission triggered a fierce backlash, with party loyalists and stakeholders engaging in physical altercations, turning the gathering into a battlefield of competing interests.
