The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has withdrawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential race.

Tambuwal who stated this at the ongoing National Convention at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja urged all his supporters and delegates to vote for former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Stepping down just about 8.00 p.m. Tambuwal said that he had decided to step down for the sake of national unity.

He, however, asked all his supporters to vote for Atiku Abubakar.
