The Senate on Wednesday confirmed Abdulrasheed Bawa as the Chairman, Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

His confirmation came after a two-hour session on the floor of the Senate.

Bawa with his confirmation became the substantive Chairman of EFCC since 6 years of operating with an Acting Chairman.

At 40, Bawa became the youngest Chairman of the commission since its establishment in 2003.

Previous Chairmen of the EFCC include: Nuhu Ribadu, Farida Waziri (Mrs), Ibrahim Lamorde and Ibrahim Magu.
