As Ondo state continues to be in the spotlight ahead of its guber poll, the Secretary to the State’s Government, Mr Ifedayo Abegunde has resigned his appointment.
Abegunde, a close friend to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s estranged deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi said he would communicate his next line of action within the next 24 hours.
Amid the crisis rocking the cabinet of Akeredolu, Abegunde’s resignation has opened another vista to the October guber tussle in the state.
Sources disclosed to The New Diplomat that the former Ondo SSG’s defection to the opposition’s People’s Democratic Party is imminent as plans have been perfected.
Akeredolu is seeking a re-election, but his deputy, Ajayi has become a torn in his flesh, as he is currently vying for the Ondo PDP’s ticket.
