… Hospitalized In Abuja

Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West senatorial zone of Nigeria has jumped out of a police vehicle taking him to a federal high court in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, The New Diplomat has learnt.

Melaye was yesterday arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja on his way to Morroco for a function that included the deputy Senate president and funded by the Nigerian federal government.

Mr. Melaye was however released yesterday and rearrested this morning by security agencies.

According to a source “The vehicle conveying melaye was believed to be heading to a federal high court in Abuja but diverted and started heading to Kogi state. Mr. Melaye then jumped out of the vehicle.”

Meanwhile, it was further gathered that the Senator just been admitted into an Abuja hospital after sustaining injuries in the course of the escape.

The hospital ambulance was said to have brought him at the hospital around 4:25pm, after which he was admitted into the emergency unit without security operatives accompanying him.
