Despite calls from some sections of the country urging the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, nick-named Mama Taraba to resign honourably, over her support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, she was spotted at the Council Chambers on Wednesday for the Federal Executive Council meeting.

She arrived the Presidential Villa few minutes after 10 am, earlier than the commencement time of 11 am.

She became the cynosure of all eyes immediately she entered the Council Chambers.

The Minister who occupied the media space last week had maintained that if she was left with an option of choosing between the incumbent President Buhari and ex-VP, Atiku, in the 2019 polls, she would gladly settle for the latter because of their long standing relationship.

Despite her remarks, the presidency has kept mum on the development, this Wednesday’s FEC meeting provided the first opportunity for her to meet with other cabinet members including President Muhammadu Buhari who presides over such meeting.

Upon her arrival, she was observed to be unperturbed, as she went round the hall to exchange pleasantries with some of her colleagues.

Photo journalists had a field day taking her shots as she moved round the hall.

Before settling down for the meeting, she went to greet the Minister of Mines and Steel, Kayode Fayemi, who was standing with the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and the Permanent Secretary, Jalil Arabi.

She also exchanged pleasantries with the Minister of State for Health, Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Acting SGF, Minister of Budget and National Planning as well as Minister of Finance.

She then turned back and headed to her seat.

When she realized that she had not exchanged pleasantries with the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s she got up again and went to him for a brief chat.

She then returned to her seat and continued to chat with the Minister of Water Resources, who seats next to her in the Chambers.

The meeting started when President Buhari entered the Council Chamber by 11 a.m.
