Hafeez Abubakar, Deputy Governor of Kano State, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People Democratic Party (PDP).
Abubakar’s defection comes on the same day Bolaji Abdullahi, Aminu Tambuwal, 12 of the 18 members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly all moved from the ruling to the opposition party.
PDP has already welcomed Abubakar, writing on its official Twitter handle: “Breaking News! The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Professor Hafiz Abubakar has also dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC), @APCNigeria and has defected to the @OfficialPDPNig. PDP! Power to the people.”
