Worried by the escalating tension in Kano state following the crisis arising from the dethronement of Emir Aminu Ado Bayero and the subsequent reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as 16th Emir of Kano, Kano Islamic scholars have called for peace and order in Kano state.

They stated this in a letter to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, underlining the fact that Emir Ado Bayero stands removed as Emir and can no longer return to his throne. They also urged the state governor, Abba Yusuf to ensure he works with the federal government going forward.

They consequently maintained that the act of deposition of Adi Bayero has effectively been carried out and cannot be reversed in the circumstance, urging Tinubu to help maintain existing peace and order in Kano state. The full letter reads:
