The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, David Lyon, winner of the November 16 Bayelsa governorship election.

The New Diplomat reported that the APC has been in an early lead since the commencement of results collation, a lead the party maintained till the announcement of the last results from the Ekeremor Local Government.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, Vice-chancellor, University of Benin, announced at the INEC Collation Centre in Yenagoa, that the APC polled 352,552 votes while the PDP scored 143,172.
