The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the final of the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after beating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalty shootout.

The highly anticipated semi-final match played on Wednesday night saw the two teams settling for a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of action.

The game, which was decided on penalty shootout, saw Nigeria scoring four and missing one kick, while South Africa found the back of the net twice and missed two kicks, giving the Super Eagles victory after a two-goal advantage.

Nigeria’s qualification for the final would be the 8th time. The team qualified for the final in 1980, 1984, 1988, 1990, 1994, 2000, 2013, and 2024.
