An aide to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, Mr Christopher Dega has been shot dead by unknown gunmen.

Dega, a retired police Commissioner and Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security was killed in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

He was confirmed dead by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Terver Akase amid sketchy details as of the time of this reporting.

Dega, who retired as a DIG had served as Commissioner of police in Borno and Edo states before his retirement.

This latest killing comes few days after Ahmed Gulak, a former presidential aide to President Goodluck Jonathan was murdered in Owerri, Imo State.
