France’s president Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for coronavirus.
The Elysee Palace announced on Thursday that he was tested after showing early symptoms.

He will now isolate for seven days but will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely.
“He will continue to work and take care of his activities at a distance,” it added. The brief statement did not give details of the symptoms the French president was currently experiencing.
Macron was due to visit Lebanon next week. The trip has now been cancelled, the palace said.
The diagnosis comes nine days after a state visit to Paris by Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
