The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended a former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, in Lagos.

The former minister was said to have been arrested for alleged forgery and manipulation of documents and brought to the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency on Tuesday.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, has confirmed Fani-Kayode’s arrest by operatives “I think something like that happened,” he told newsmen, declining further comment.

Fani-Kayode, who recently joined the ruling All Progressives Congress has been facing a 17-count of criminal conspiracy, fraud and money laundering to the tune of N4.9 billion.

In 2016, he was detained for over two months alongside a former minister of finance, Nevada Usman, but were later released after court granted them N250 million bail each.
