The Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday reinstated Honourable Francis Okiye, as Speaker of the Assembly.
By reinstating Okiye as Speaker, the House reversed itself on the impeachment and suspension notice earlied served on him by the lawmakers, Monday.
His impeachment letter was signed by nine out of the 10-member Assembly present at a brief sitting on Monday.
The New Diplomat had reported that Marcus Onobun emerged as the new speaker following Okiye’s impeachment.
But the impeachment was reversed on Wednesday, following a motion moved by the Leader of the house, Mr Henry Okhuarobo, and seconded by Mr Emmanuel Okoduwa, representing Esan North East 11.
