Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has finally made the much expected move as he formally dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) to continue the pursuance of his re-election with another party.

The governor announced this on Tuesday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The development which was to further his re-election bid, followed several high-level meetings with top hierarchy of the PDP including Governors in the South-South.

The New Diplomat earlier reported that barring any lasting minute changes, his defection to the People’s Democratic Party is imminent.

Recall he was disqualified from participating in the APC primaries by a screening Committee set up by the party’s National Working Committee.
