Adamawa state has recorded its index case of the rampaging coronavirus after weeks of staying off the COVID-19 tally since the pandemic struck the country.
The affected person who was in Kano before travelling to Adamawa a week ago is believed to have contracted the virus there.
Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Bashir, who is also the chairman of the state COVID-19 Containment Committee, was yet to respond to press inquiries Wednesday morning on the case.
But the affected person has personally confirmed on phone that he tested positive for COVID-19.
“Result from my sample showed I am positive,” he said.
According to him, he immediately went on self-isolation after arriving Yola from Kano but he said he was moved to the isolation centre at the State Specialist Hospital, Wednesday morning after result of his sample showed that he was positive.
