The Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has had his position as Speaker of the State House of Assembly revoked by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

On Tuesday, the Court ruled in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sa’ad Abdullahi Ibrahim, thereby declaring him the rightful winner of the March 18, 2023 election for the Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency and sacking the incumbent speaker.

This, however presents an enormous challenge for the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule of the ruling APC in the state in terms of smooth passage of executive bills and legislative proceedings in the House where a new Speaker has been declared by the Court.
