The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed the death sentence delivered on Maryam Sanda, who was convicted for murdering her husband, Bilyaminu Bello.

A three-man panel of the court, in a judgment on Friday dismissed Sandra’s appeal. The panel said there was no merit in the appeal she put forward.

Maryam Sanda Sentenced To Death For Killing Husband

Recall the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, had found Ms. Sanda guilty of killing her husband, Bello.

Ms. Sanda was sentenced to death by hanging by the judge.Death Sentence For Maryam Sanda

The Nigerian police charged Sanda for culpable homicide in November 2017, and sought the death penalty against the accused in a two count charge.

The victim, Bello, was the son of a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello.
