The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has secured a decisive and overwhelming victory in the governorship election in Ondo State.

In a remarkable display of electoral strength, Aiyedatiwa defeated Ayoola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Abbas Mimiko of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), among other candidates in the election.

Aiyedatiwa won all 18 local government areas of the state, leaving his closest rival, Ajayi, with none.

The New Diplomat reports that electorate and indeed all eligible voters across all the 18 local government areas, 203 wards and the 3,933 polling units in the state trooped to their respective polling units on Saturday to cast their vote for the candidate of their choice.
